If a salaried employee wants to take 3 weeks annual leave and he is on a (14 days on 7 days off) roster, how much of his leave entitlement does he use. This question only relates to employees that are on Salary and are paid the same amount each fortnight.
Unless specifically in the industrial agreement, I would think it depends on the roster. The amount of annual leave should equal the number of 'normal' (ie not including overtime) days or hours that the employee was actually due to have worked for the actual period of leave being taken.
I agree with cotton eyes, however if the 3rd week was going to be on a week where he/she was rostered off then technically they are only taking 2 weeks. Unless of course the "3rd week" was actually their next week back after the rotation.....
Leave is accrued hourly, so first find out how many hours of leave you have accrued, then how many hours you work in the fortnight, and you should have your answer there.
