We are a small company (NSW) and have to reduce staff. What are the rules regarding termination pay( number of weeks per year employed) and long service leave. Thanks
Long Service Leave is per your Long Services Leave Act for the state, this is what I would look at for Vic. In relation to termination pay you will need to review the relevant award and the National Employment Standards. This should give you the information you need.
Section 10 of the National Employment Standards deals with minimum notice periods and redundancy payments, although the redundancy provisions do not apply if you have fewer than 15 employees, including those being terminated.

Be careful here, the NES redundancy provision can be overridden by the historical redundancy provision in the superseded award (there are certain rules in place for this in the FWA). You need to do your homework.
