Payroll function

I might start managing the payroll function soon. I have no experience in payroll and need to to a crash course quickly. Any good articles or books I can read will be appreciated

Need a bit more info I think beofre people can give you some constructive answers:
eg How big is the organisatiion, what software apps are they using etc...

Hi Y-man, thanks for your e-mail. I am not sure what program they are using.....only starting in a months time. My need is more around tax laws, super, the ins & outs of payroll etc rather than the program itself. I will manage the function and therefore believe I should know the theory relatively well.....if that make sense?
