I was wondering what other companies are doing % wise for pay increases for staff this year. We have Engineers, Program Managers,Office staff Cad operators and of course HR people. Any feedback from medium size industrial/manufacturing organisations would be appreciated
Our business has a variety of professionals (including those you have mentioned). We budgeted 4% but will probably give an overall increase of 3% or less. The rest of the budget will be used to deal with individual issues of relativity etc. on a case-by-case basis.
The big issue we're experiencing at the moment is finding good Project Managers (on either a term employment or contrator basis). We're hearing that their rates may be escalating up to 10%+ simply due to shortage.
We usually budget for 5-7%, however this year we have had to re-visit and some employees will obtain up to 10% as the short fall on quality staff is not available. So we see it as one way of retaining staff.
