Employees are paid for a 38 hour week. Yet they are only working 7.5 hours a day which is 37.5 hours a week.
They need to work a 7.6 hour day which would be 38 hours as in their contract.

Points:
If they work past the 7.5hrs they claim for and are paid overtime.
I am a new employee asked to resolve this matter
Over 1 year this would cost the employers $15,360 in unworked hours
Their concern is legitimate

I feel asking the tradesmen to work a additional 6 minutes a day sounds a little odd
What do others suggest or do in this situation?

PLEASE: No insulting or rude replies. I posted same question on another site and that's what some people did.

Thank you
