New Employee Paperwork
Hi,
I was wondering if anybody to provide guidance on new employee Paperwork.
At a minimum, what must a new employee be provided in terms of paperwork (contracts, tfn, super etc), as prescribed in FW Act or other law?

This checklist on the fair work website for new employees is a good place to start:-

If new to HR in Australia I would also be gaining an understanding the Fair Work Act and relevant modern awards to the industry you are working in.

Thanks Carrie, that info is great!
No, I'm not new to Aus HR, but before I give advise I like to ensure my advise is correct and satisfy my curiosity.
The FW website states that "it is a good idea to put an offer on employment in writing" (my emphasis) - I was really surprised that this was not a legislated requirement!

1) Employment contract - make sure it is compliant. Must include, job title, to whom reporting, location, start date. Pay rate/Salary, which award covers the job and reference to the NES; and reference in general to adherence to all company policies. Attach copy of the Position Description.
3) Tax Declaration form available from newsagent, or if requiring bulk, from ATO.
4) Super Choice Form - can download from ATO website
5) Your own Application for Employment form which would include all personal details, full name, DOB, address (a street name, not just a PO Box), contact phone numbers (home and mobile) next of kin, relationships and phone contact numbers; bank account details.
6) The Fair Work Information Statement - can downloaded from FW website

You can download a Tax file number declaration form from the ATO or fill it in online, here
