Default Do you think "social media" is important in recruitment?

The Social Media evangelists continue to warn how far behind the eight ball we will be if we don't "integrate" it into our recruitment processes.

Putting aside concerns about privacy and discrimination for a moment, do you see Social Media becoming a vital part of your recruitment process ? (is it already?)

The other side of the coin, for candidates to be aware of - is that many employers WILL take a look at their social networking site profiles and photos to see what else they get up to outside of work. Some of your Facebook or Myspace photos can be very embarassing, as are hastily posted Twitter updates or blog/forum posts.
