recruitment agency fee
Hi everyone,
I am new in this forum. I have one question regarding recruitment agency fee.
We have one recruitment assignment proposal in place with an agency. This is a contingency assignment but on an exclusive basis.
If we find a candidate from internally or seek, do we still need to pay the recruitment fee to the agency?
Many thanks

If it's with the agency purely on a contingent basis, then you would not normally have to pay any fee to the agency.

Only if you have signed up to a retained contract with the agency.
Sorry for the delayed response. I've only just joined today.

If you signed a contract, you would have to still pay.
It would be similar to signing up with a real estate, and having someone knock on your door with an offer for a private sale. You would still need to possibly pay the real estate for marketing costs already spent , and a commission.
Good luck

A recruitment assignment on a contingency basis means that payment is "contingent" on you employing someone whom they referred to you. If you employ someone whom you find yourself there is no fee owed to the agency. This is VERY common. It's also why recruitment fees are so high, because a huge percentage of the recruitment industry do lots of work that they never get paid for.
