Default Will we have enough human capital?

As our workforce ages, unless we find ways to keep older people in the workforce, the shortage of workers is likely to impact on our economy.

A recent Fairfax Digital article discusses the issue and some of the challenges we face in keeping people in the workforce as they age. The article titled titled "New Tricks, Not Harder Ones" is here

I think companys should have felixble arrangement for older workers, they have more knowledge and skill then the youngies, although they might not be able to put in the hours they will be able to get the job done faster and accuraetly.

Hi,

I agree that flexible work practices should be in place, but should include all workers. Additionally, we should be looking to train and develop people from an early age so they develop the maturity and expected behaviours for the corporate world. By employing them in corporate bodies instead of retail/hospitality, they will grow up faster and learn that they do need to work a certain number of hours per week and behave/talk like businesspeople, rather than being employed on a casual basis, which promotes antisocial behaviours and unreliable attendence due to too much partying and other unsavoury activities.

Food for thought.
