Default Paying the price for flexibility

Australia's growing reliance on casual workers is bad for productivity and is worsening the skills crisis, researchers say.

Barbara Pocock, director of the Centre for Work and Life at the University of South Australia, says many of Australia's two million casuals, or a quarter of the entire workforce, go to work when they are sick because they don't have access to paid sick leave.
