Default Uniform re-issue Q

Just wondering what is justified in terms of fair wear and tear?

How much onus falls on the employee to ensure they notify the company of their correct sizing?

Would you class "outgrowing" a uniform within a short time frame (let's say 2 months) to be fair wear and tear. Would you think it's the employers responsibility to replace said uniforms?

Cheers

Is it compulsory uniform? Part of OHS PPE requirements? need a bit more info but your approach needs to be two fold. Provision of a new uniform, and addressing the reasons why it was "outgrown".....1 is going to be a lot easier than the other.....

I wouldn't call it "fair wear and tear", however if an employee's body size changes I'd say you need to provide them with a new uniform if the original one no longer fits.

There are three reasons that come to mind why someone's body size could change dramatically in two months (there may be more);

1. They were really overweight to start with and have gone on a successful diet;
2. They were not overweight but are "bulking up" for some reason, such as weight lifting or preparing for a long distance ocean swim; or
3. They are pregnant!

Hang on to the old uniform in case they return to their previous size
