Default Deadline fast approaching for handing out compulsory Fact Sheet

We received this timely reminder from Deacons this week which I'm sure they won't mind us sharing with you ....
Deadline fast approaching for handing out compulsory Fact Sheet
Have you given your existing employees the compulsory Workplace Authority Fact Sheet?
In July’s Workplace Reform Update we informed employers of the obligation on constitutional corporations as of 20 July 2007 to give a specific ‘Fact Sheet’ to all employees.
The deadline for giving the Fact Sheet to existing employees is 20 October 2007. Employers should already be giving the Fact Sheet to new employees within seven days of their starting work.
Employers may be liable for a $110 fine for each occasion that an employer fails to provide the Fact Sheet to an employee.
The Fact Sheet may be downloaded from the Workplace Authority website at www.oea.gov.au/graphics.asp?showdoc=/employers/WorkplaceRelationsFactSheet.asp
The Fact Sheet sets out some of the key legislative protections relating to workplace relations and workplace agreements, and provides details about the Workplace Ombudsman and the Workplace Authority. Employers should regularly check the Workplace Authority website to ensure that they are using the latest version.

Thanks kevinh! This one's ticked off my list )) The Fact Sheet is now a standard inclusion in our employment packs that we send with the offer to candidates.
