    Hi Everyone,

I'm gathering info about recruitment tools and wondered if anyone has used any good recruitment management systems, or know of any that you would suggest I check out?

    Thanks

    Hi Kate,

There's also a product called Filefinder from Dillistone in the UK www.dillistone.com

Bear in mind that many of these systems are designed for recruitment firms and may have a lot of functionality that you may not need if you are an internal recruiter. Typically you also 'pay through the nose' for such systems - $2000 - $4000 per seat.

However, a basic CRM product such as ACT! maybe all you need, which comes at about $200 per seat. ACT! works well 'out of the box' and can be easily customised, in fact there are a number of add-ons specifically for recruiters.

    A few things to consider;

    • Is the product local and how good is the support - do they have a local office or do they rely on an 'agent' to sell and support the product locally.
    • Is it easy to get your data out of the system if you decided to change products down the track.
    • Is the product customisable and to what degree.
    • What is the cost of customising the product.
    • Are there third party developers or consultants who work with the product (or is it so proprietary that you have to go back to the manufacturer).
    • Are there on-going annual licence fees?
    • What level of training do they provide after installation and at what cost?

Any of the large systems producers should be able to supply you with some reference customers who you can contact.

    Good luck with it!

    Hi Kate,

We have recently implemented a new HR recruitment system internally, known as "e-mercury". So far we are experiencing no hiccups and it covers functions from end to end of the recuitment process ie, it even generates contracts for the successful candidate.

    Good Luck,
    Bev

    Kate,

As you may have already discovered some of the products listed above are quite extensive systems which require significant investment of both time and money to implement (on top of the purchase price).

If you haven't done already, I suggest you define your needs (create a 'requirement spec') and then decide which features are 'must haves' and what are 'nice to have'.

Feel free to post your spec here as some of us may be able to point you in the right direction.

    Cheers,
    Kevin

    Sadaf,

    A few initial questions if I may;

    1. How much does CVPlus Visual 3.0 cost (roughly) ?
    2. How customisable is it? (it appears to be designed primarily for recruitment firms)
    3. How is CVPlus Visual 3.0 supported in Australia? - does Swiftpro have an office here?
    4. Does it interface to any of the Australian job boards, such as Seek or MyCareer?
    5. How does CVPlus Visual 3.0 differentiate itself from the plethora of other recruitment systems out there?

    Thanks, Moz

    Hi Moz, Good Afternoon,
Sorry for the delayed response, kindly find below the answers,

    1. How much does CVPlus Visual 3.0 cost (roughly) ?
CVPlus can be purchased as one off fee, the price for single user costs 695 Pounds and 995 Pounds with One Year’s Software Maintenance Agreement.

    2. How customisable is it? (it appears to be designed primarily for recruitment firms)
The main applicants pages, the client pages and the vacancy pages are fully customisable using the in built application definer.

    3. How is CVPlus Visual 3.0 supported in Australia? - does Swiftpro have an office here?
Swiftpro has no office in Australia, Swiftpro has its Offices in London -UK, Sofia- Bulgaria, and Faisalabad-Pakistan, Staff from London Branch will provide all of the initial services including installation, configuration and training. We have dedicated resources at this office that will provide telephone/email/IM support during normal AU office hours.

    4. Does it interface to any of the Australian job boards, such as Seek or MyCareer?
We have our own online product called www.gojobnet.com which we normally use as a “template” to quickly add online job-board functionality to a clients own website ( see www.global-energy.nl , here the jobs tab is in fact the gojobnet product ) . Register info is than “fetched” every 30 minutes by the local product CVPlus Visual and new applicant cards created or existing ones updated. There maybe no need for you to purchase gojobnet if we can get your applicant registration info in XML format and talk to your website as a web service. To check this we can talk to your web development company directly if this helps.

    5. How does CVPlus Visual 3.0 differentiate itself from the plethora of other recruitment systems out there?
CVplus Visual is a powerful recruitment software, that caters to the modern Recruiting requirements, it has the User-centred design and features like Automated CV/resume import, Search & Match, Sophisticated communication, Job tracking & making placements, International Settings and Multilanguage support, Management reports and Diary. Its economical and easy to use and can be synchronized with gojobnet.

I hope this answers all your questions satisfactorily. Please don’t hesitate to ask further questions, however I would like to suggest an online demonstration, I will arrange it for you at your convenience. We use a product called gotoMeeting.com for this, where you can see our screen and we can dialogue on the phone.

    Sadaf,
I'm not in the market for new recruitment software at the moment, but I'm always always interested in new products, hence the questions.

However, if I were in the market I wouldn't go for a product which is immature from a development perspective or is supported from the other side of the world. There are a lot of products to choose from, including numerous local Australian products that have continued to evolve for around 10-15 years.

The other issue is price. £995 is effectively AUD$2000 per seat. While that might be a reasonable cost for a recruitment company, it's looking very expensive for an internal HR user who wouldn't use quite a bit of the functionality.
