Starting Up A Recruitment Business

I am very interested in starting up a recruitment businss, concentrating mainly in the mining industry. I have worked in the mining game for the last 5 years and have a back ground in HR.
I am working through a small business course atm
looking for some tips in this area'.
I live in Brisbane but work up near clermont

Mel, you've got a lot of entrenched large recruitment firms in that sector so competition is going to be fierce. May i suggest specialising in certain roles perhaps? Make yourself stand out from the rest....otherwise I think you may struggle.....I'm in brisbane so happy to catch up one day and have a chat and see if I can help at all......

Entering into this niche is going to be very difficult for a start up. Have you ever been in charge of a company start up before? Firstly your going to need to create a website, do a lot of advertising and have a lot of content(Jobs) on your site before you start. Qld IR Consultant is right though, you need to stand out from the rest, and target specific roles until you get your feet on the ground. Then you can start to diversify. Good luck
