Hiring an employee on existing 457 visa - HR Buzz

I want to hire a new employee who is currently on an existing 457 visa. Does anyone know the process/form for us to take over this 457 application?

Hi the process is to lodge a nomination with DIAC first. There is no need to reapply for the visa. Happy to assist should you require. I am a Registered Migration Agent Regards Andy

Thanks Andrew. Do you know what happens if his existing company cancels their sponsorship before our nomination comes through? Do you have to get some sort of bridging visa in the interim as i don't know how long it will take for the nomination to go through

As long as the visa is not cancelled you should be fine... the individual can not work until nomination comes through. Nomination should take 1-2 weeks. Happy to assist with the Nomination application should you require. Cheers
