Accessing Facebook from work

There has been some discussion in one of the other HR Buzz forums (Recruitment?) about use of Facebook from work and how this is a huge time waster.

Many organisations block access to social networking sites for a variety of reasons, however Westpac Bank have apparently decided to make Facebook and other Web 2.0 sites accessible from their corporate networks. They're even going to build their own internal social network!

Part of the impetus appears to be their discovery that 1500 Facebook users list Westpac as their employer.

I wonder how many other employers know how many of their staff are on Facebook, MySpace, You Tube etc, and what they are saying about their workplace ....
