Is everyone expecting the changes recently announced by Labor around FBT and car leases (http://www.hrbuzz.com.au/forum/news-current-affairs/3883-fbt-changes-may-affect-salary-packages.html) to disappear if we get a change in Government?

Does anyone know what the Coalition have planned for this if they get in?

Or should we expect this to be more work for HR?

Think Abbott has declared the changes will be reversed if he comes to government. I'm 80% confident this would happen, however I'm putting it in the category of things that will be forgotten when the see the true state of the books.

Anything is possible, if it is reversed it could be back to days of when FBT % was based on kms travelled which then will create more work. Overall there are many areas that will impact us, changes to super, I expect some changes to fair work (but not mass overhaul in the first term). If the govt does not change and Rudd gets a majority, then there could be more changes in other areas as they push for further Henry reforms which we was quite keen on first time around. Reportable super is still awaiting someone to figure out for us to implement as well, My super has further changes planned, super cap limits etc. The only thing we know is there will be change one way or the other.
