View Full Version : Fair Work ombudsman to scrutinise unpaid work

Over the years we have seen suggestions from HR practitioners on this site that fresh graduates trying to some experience in an HR job offer there services free of charge, like an unpaid internship.

The Fair Work Australia Ombudsman Nicholas Wilson has now said that employees must be paid the minimum wage for work that is not linked with an educational or training program. Generally, if the person has done work that would have been done by a paid employee, then they should be paid.
