Hi,

I am a HR professional with 6 years of experience of which 3 years has been in Australia. I have done my Masters in HR (from India) and also a Masters in (Indian) Labour Law. I am currently in the recruitment industry and seeking to build a career in mainstream HR in Australia and have come to realise that my lack of knowledge and experience with the Fair Works Act and other HR legalities is preventing me from nailing a good job.

I have lost so many good opportunities for this very reason in spite of being more that suitable to all other requirements of the job. Could anyone please advice on the kind of course / certification I could do to fill this gap and build a strong foundation for my career in Australia please?

Your guidance is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Jhansi

Hi Jhansi,

There is a load of information to learn from the Fair Work Australia website. I believe they also run a number of siminars and workshops on the Fair Work Act. I would also suggest a tafe course in industrial relations. The below website also provide training on this.

Training and Development HOME (http://www.amma.org.au/training/AMMA/home.html)

Hope this helps you. Good Luck!
