Hello Megan,

Depending on how different industries and organizations does it, a periodic (monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, annually) staff performance appraisal or performance review puts the business in a competitive advantage. Having an employee performing at his/her best, meets or even exceeds the set performance metrics helps the organization cut costs on 'unproductivity' among the others.

If in any case based on the conducted staff review that about 20%-30% of your workforce doesn't perform well (that's a bit high by the way), or there is a significant amount/percentage which are defined as non-performers or unable to hit the mterics, warrants immediate attention from management particuarly who handles training and/or performance quality to device through action planning tool a good prgram to address it.
