I think the GM space within Australia is not tat big as compared to other markets. Is this true?

Who knows?
What's "big" ?
How many global mobility jobs are available in Dubai at the moment?

Also, coming from Dubai, I have had the opportunity to work wit major MNC's; and am even ready to step out of tat area and work wit consultancies....but is there sthg im not doing rite or not looking in the rite direction?

Try using a dictionary! :)

As for "direction" you haven't said what you are doing or where you are looking ...

wel dubai is a place full of expats....so to answer ur question.....almost every MNC in dubai will have a dedicated staff looking after relocations. i was catering to an international move almost every week.
i have worked for companies that have around 50,000+ employees worldwide.....Microsoft, Samsung and the likes....so my comparison to 'big' is BIG :-) i dont need a dictionary for tat.

Well I guess you've answered your own question. The same MNCs are here also, but they are staffed largely with Australian residents. If you look at an Australian office of say a US MNC, probably no more than 5% of the staff would be on secondment from the US, so maybe they have one or two global mobility specialists. Compared with Dubai where the same company may have a very high percentage of it's staff from overseas, hence the need for lots of GM people.

The other problem with making comparisons with Dubai and Australia is that in Dubai all the GM jobs are pretty much concentrated in one city, whereas in Australia they could be based in any one of several cities. I have no doubt that Microsoft have GM people in Australia, but they're probably in Sydney. NAB's GM people may be in Melbourne, where Macquarie Bank's would be in Sydney. HP's might be in Melb, Fujitsu probably in Sydney. Companies in the mining industry might have theirs in Perth or Brisbane.

Of all the global mobility jobs in Australia I would be surprised if more than 25-30% of them would be in Melbourne.

also, i was told by one recruiter tat the GM space here in melb in not tat great...

It must be true then.

As for the spelling, I wasn't joking. If you write your CV and cover letters like you're posting this forum, you have no chance of getting a job here.

PS: I just did a search for global mobility jobs in Dubai and I couldn't find many at all...

Suggesting you communicate like a grown-up is not "shooting you down", it's constructive criticism.

I said;

This is a forum for HR Professionals - start communicating like one!

I must agree with Moz, you do need to be careful with spelling mistakes. As a recruiter one of my pet hates is reading cover letters and resumes full of spelling mistakes and it demonstrates the candidates lack of communication skills.

Agree with both mbaena and Moz in relation to spelling mistakes. Also your continued replies outline you do not understand his 'constructive criticism. For example: review your responses and how many times are you write 'tat' when it should in fact be 'that'.

You post something in a forum for comment and feedback, not all feedback is going to be positive and you may not like it. Up to you what you do with it!
