Hi forum
Does anyone know any good organisational charting software?

It takes entirely too much time to chart our organisation in visio or powerpoint; we are looking for something faster and more powerful.

We have found OrgPlus - distributed in Australia by a company called Navigo - it looks like it will be a good fit.

Navigo is at Navigo - Re-inventing HR Through Strategically Aligned Technology, Process and People - OrgPlus Org Charting Software (http://www.navigo.com.au) - OrgPlus at Organisation Chart & Human Resource Management. Organisational Charts by HumanConcepts. (http://www.orgplus.com.au)

Does anyone have any experience with this software? Is it as good as it looks?

Thanks
Max

Hi Max,

I would advice you look for some Open Source Solution. Those software much more affordable because the business model make them Free. You can find some at SourceForge (http://www.sourceforge.com)

I know an HR software called OrangeHRM. Its a complete Open Source HR management solutions. One of the functionalites is to set up your organizational chart ... but I'm not sure if this exactly what you need.

Any way, here is my advice for whose are looking for an affordable and complete HR solution. Anyone can download it for free in the web-site (Human Resource Management Software - OrangeHRM (http://www.orangehrm.com))

Hope I could help

carlosrici....are you able to advice whether employee information is stored in the company servers (internally) or externally through a hosted web service?

I've used Org Plus before, and the standard edition is good value (less than $200). Org Plus has been around for many years - I remember using one of the first versions of it around 15 years ago - so it has a solid user base and is bug free.

Hi HRbeat,

I think the data is hosted at rackspace server, a very famous web-hosting provider.

If you want you can check more information at OrangeHRM On-Demand (http://www.orangehrm.com/ondemand.shtml)

Or email the support team. I guess the email addresses are displayed in the web-site.

hoped I have helped you.

Hi all

Thanks for this conversation!

Carlosrici. Thanks for the mention but OrangeHCM is not appropriate for us. We already have an HRIS system, and it is very important for our security that HR data remains on-site.

MarkD. Thanks for the recommendation :) Thanks for confirming that it is bug free!!

I think OrgPlus is probably the right solution for us. Hosted locally, automated imports from HRIS, etc etc... Many good features.

Thanks again
