We have recently had to make redundant a person who has different needs. He is very intelligent, but socially awkward and not really able to communicate very well. We want to assist him in finding another position and want to know if there are any recruitment agencies that specialise is differently abled people? Any information or suggestions would be greatfully received.

Heidi,
Given that private sector recruitment companies focus first and foremost on the needs of their customers (employers), I feel it is very unlikely that you will find a recruitment agency that is going to be particularly helpful for this person.

If you really want to help this person you should pay an outplacement agency to help him find a new position. Bear in mind, some outplacement agencies are better than others and some may have particular experience with differently abled people.
