Is anybody willing to share with me what they believe is an acceptable turnover % (can be a range) in a manufacturing company in SE Melbourne?

I've tried to find info on staff turnover myself in order to benchmark our organisation. The best I could do was to use the Australian Institute of Management's (AIM) National Salary Survey 2007.

They quoted voluntary staff turnover rates at 12.6% for 2006/2007, up from 11.5% the previous year and 9.9% the year before that. The high rate was believed to be due to the skills shortage.

Whilst it's not specifically manufacturing in Melbourne, it may be of use :-)

InfoHRM I have found to be very useful in doing comparisons regarding turnover and other benchmarking data. http://www.infohrm.com/services/workforce_reporting/metrics.aspx?gclid=CJK37Lyji5ECFSBeagod6laaFQ

The ABS (Australian Bureau of Statistics) is also a good one - http://abs.gov.au/ausstats/abs@.nsf/dossbytitle/42D61FBA11243C51CA256E8400740093?OpenDocument
