Earlier this week the NY Times ran a story on a job board in the US being sold (http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/18/business/media/18bistro.html?ex=1342411200&en=aa4a04d8a09b5064&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss) for $23mil, now given the difference in market size that would be like The Age or SMH running a story on a Job Board in Australia being sold for $2mil. Is it really news?

Maybe depends on your perspective.

One interesting part is they site offers premium extra for job seekers, in addition to the job postings. Does this work, does it add value?

Employers pay to post jobs on the site, which also offers premium content to users who pay subscription fees. Last year, the site had 600,000 unique visitors, and many signed up for offerings like seminars and courses in freelance writing.
