Disapointment versus reality
I think it a good idea to go back to the facts in this kind of situation . Nothing like some hard core data ...........benchmark the position salary level with outside levels . There are several good tools for this including agency websites and or AIM surveys etc. Further data can be collected from average seasonal EBA increases for privately owned companies etc . I am reasonably confident that these will not reflect a 9% increase but in fact what is happening inthe market place which appears to me to be shrinking.
For the record some attempt should be made to find out who promised the increase and get their input as to its validity and reasoning.
